Charm City Folk and Bluegrass Festival 2014

After a resounding success last year, the Charm City Folk and Bluegrass Festival is back and ready to make Druid Hill Park come alive.  Last year 1500 people attended the event, and expectations are that number could more than double for this year's festival in a much-more expansive and scenic venue.  You can buy tickets now at the official website , and use promo code "welovebluegrass" to get $10 off. Keep in mind that $2 of every admission go to the Baltimore Conservatory (which is fantastic, and you should visit it as well).

Now for a few pictures from the festival last year to give you a small glimpse of what's in store for April 26th (Try to imagine the warm breeze, cold beer, great food, and fantastic music):

Weekend Markets

This weekend you've got a few markets to check out.

32nd Street Farmers Market (Waverly)- Saturday from 7AM to noon.  The smaller of the weekend farmers markets, but if you can't do Sunday or Waverly is closer to you, this is the one to go to.  By the way, this is the year-round market.

Bmore Flea Market (Penn Station) - Saturday from 10AM-4PM.  Assorted arts, crafts, food, and drinks right in front of Penn Station.  This is the first weekend for the Flea Market in 2014.

Baltimore City Farmers Market & Bazaar - Sunday from 7AM to noon.  Since it's the first weekend of the season, don't expect all the vendors and the full array of veggies.  What you will find is seedlings, meats, dairy, prepared foods, crafts, and a bit of leafy greens.

Science Center First Fridays

The Maryland Science Center has a great deal for discounted tickets today!  On the first Friday of each month (which is today), you can get in from 5-8PM for only $8.   This also includes the planetarium (at 5:40PM) and IMAX (at 7PM)!  Here's the link.
