While you may know that Preakness is Baltimore's leg of the triple crown (the second of the three races), there's so much more to know about Baltimore's oldest sport. This year will be the 137th running of the Preakness Stakes on the second oldest racetrack in the country. Here's some important points you should know for this weekend:
- This is the official website
- Tickets remaining range from $25 for the infield to $225 for seats in the grandstand.
- Here is the recipe for a Black-eyed susan...the official drink of the Preakness Stakes.
- The event will be broadcast live on NBC for TV and WBAL for radio at 4:30PM this Saturday, May 19th.
- The name of the trophy awarded to the winner of the race is called the Woodlawn Vase (pictured above). The original is now housed at the Baltimore Museum of Art.
