With over $2.5 Million raised by almost 15,000 plungers, the Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge was a huge success this year. We've got some great pictures of the event along with a first-hand video of a plunge. According to the Baltimore Sun, around 24,000 people took part in the event yesterday. Click on the pictures for high resolution and check out the video at the bottom. On to the event pictures!
And the video:
While some chose to plunge up to their chest and rush back to the shore, others insisted that you had to fully submerge. Some plunged 4 or 5 times in a row, and others stayed in the water as long as some brave soul would accompany them. All-in-all it was an electric, positive, and chilly experience. A special thanks goes out to the Baltimore Sports and Social Club for securing a pass for a front-row spot on the beach.
