Ever wonder where those buildings and sites are in the Wire (greatest show ever)? No need to drive around town searching...with the help of Google Maps, you can see all the major sites right here.
1. The Pit and the high-rises. The Barksdale organization ran their empire out of these projects. This street view shows you the high-rises. This angle was where Carver, Herc, and Prez "visit" at night and get their car torched.
The Pit is located directly behind the towers, and was where D'Angelo ran the low-rises from the central couch.
2. Homicide Offices - Rawls's original homicide office looked out of this downtown building.
3. Major crimes HQ- Way out in East Baltimore next to 95, this was Daniels's team headquarters.
4. Little Johnny's - The meeting place for "the Greek" is ironically located right down the street from the major crimes HQ.
5. Orlando's - Avon's front is located just above Fells Point.
6. Rim Source - Marlo's place for advice and a bit of planning.
7. Hotel - When Brother Mazone came to town, this is where Omar got the drop on him.
8. East-West Basketball game site - This is where Prop Joe and Avon matched up their teams for the annual friendly match.

9. The Grain Tower - Much mentioned in the second season, the tower did get renovated into an amazing condo building instead of reopening as a grain elevator.
10. The Docks - Row upon row of shipping containers, but I doubt all the dock workers are Polish.
11. Diner - The diner that McNulty picked up a waitress at was the original from the movie Diner...just in a different location now.
12. Bar - The bar where dead detectives are honored, including Jimmy McNulty in the final season. Also used in many of the scenes where Jimmy and Bunk get drunk.
